Joseph Thomas Marek Joseph Marek arrived in the Americas on July 15, 1869. His family lived in Budweis Bohemia and Joe being young worked as a farm hand. After establishing himself near Salisbury Missouri, and after hearing that his father, Andrew Marek, had died he made arrangements for his mother in this country and she arrived in June 1875. After arriving in Salisbury, a Lutheran family Andrew Marek and his wife Katrina Seaman Marek also lived in Budweis and Andrew followed the carpentry trade. Andrew's parents were Frances Marek and Margarita Buzek of Burnishowitz #7. Katrina Seaman's parents were Matthew Seamsan and Maria Fusko Seaman. My Marek Family 1. Dec. 26, 1947 also from Germany, Joseph met Ann in Salisbury, Mo The Poeschl's were from Austria. Later went into the wine business in Hermen, Mo.. Joseph came first to America on July 15, 1869 and then sent for his mother in June 1875 She was a housewife and was sponsored to America by a Lutheran family in Salisbury, Missouri. Ann, his wife, was 16 yrs old when Ann arrived in New York she could not speak English so the emigration people tied a string with a note on it around her neck, so the conductor of the train would let her off at Salisbury, Mo. Ann's half brother came to the Americas as a stow away on a ship from Austria. Homesteaded in Chairton, Co. Built a log house (1 story) which was added to several times, made a nice rambling home. Elizabeth Nanneman b. Feb 9, 1900 in Chariton Co. Mo. was the daughter of Joseph Nanneman and Ann Klous, Ann was also from Germany but her family settled in Chicago. Joseph Nanneman was also first generation from Germany. Elizabeth died 1944 Buried at Mission Church in Hamdon, Mo. The Nanneman were land owners in Germany, Lived in Salisbury, Mo. (Hamdon) Chariton, Co. Mo. All the kids were born in Hamdon, Mo. (no longer there) now Salisbury, Mo. Records will be in Countyseat Kaseyville, Mo. 5. Loretta Marek, m. Jim Monnig, Raytown, Mo. b. Her Mother was cleaning a chicken house and fell, taken to hospital and Alice was delivered early. d. April 22, 1972, buried in Mt. Moriah Cem. KC Mo. m.
