common causes:

diabetes mellitus with microangiopathy

sickle-cell disease

analgesic nephropathy

other causes:

hyperviscosity syndromes, eg. macroglobulinaemia

phaeochromocytoma [vasoconstriction]

pyelonephritis

tuberculosis

gout [uric acid nephropathy]

obstructive uropathy

shock in infants

?fatigue / exercise

other drugs:

anti-depressants

L-dopa

steroids

lithium

amphetamines

alcohol withdrawal

xanthines (tea / coffee)
