BILATERAL HILAR ENLARGEMENT ON CXR

bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy:

sarcoidosis

tuberculosis

lymphoma or leukaemia

any other malignancy (lung or other)

fungal infection:

histoplasmosis

coccidioidomycosis

blastomycosis

prominent vessels:

pulmonary hypertension (prominent pulmonary arteries + oligaemic lungs)

left-sided heart failure (cardiomegaly, prominent veins, upper lobe diversion)

technical:

film taken in expiration (bronchovascular markings made prominent)
