ABSENT GALL BLADDER ON ORAL CHOLECYSTOGRAM

radiographic medium not absorbed:

patient did not ingest oral contrast medium

vomiting or diarrhoea

radiographic medium not concentrated in gall bladder:

decreased liver function (bilirubin > 30 umol/l)

cystic duct obstruction

diseased gall bladder mucosa

Dublin-Johnson syndrome

true absence of gall bladder:

cholecystectomy

congenital absence [very rare]
