David Porter ~ Stone Body
[email protected]
I am a 36 year old artist based in Waterloo, London.
All of my work is figurative, as well as using my life experiences I also like to explore things that I don't understand.
From May 21st to June 11th 2006, I had my first solo exhibition at Indo on Whitechapel Road, called 'Lost and Found'. It featured 25 self portraits on found wood.
I have had work in two short films, one of which was sponsored by Diesel clothing company, I have also produced a 40 min film which deals with blurred memory, called 'Memory Stains', it is available on DVD format.
I have been involved in numerous group exhibitions, featuring my work in venues such as The Hackney Empire Hospitality room, The Cafe Gallery Southwark Park, The Brick Lane Gallery, The Second Space Gallery Shoreditch and Shaws Booksellers.
I have recently displayed my work in the Hoxton Square Gallery, (which is basically Hoxton Square an idea that the artist Richard Maddalena came up with) In connection with the space at the end of September 2007, I was sponsored to go to Nova Gorica Slovenia to participate in the second Art for Nothing event.
I am currently working on canvas and small oval frames. To see my work scroll down and follow the links.
