The Darkness -- Little Boy
Little Boy
I've become so frustrated
By this little boy
He's not supposed to have this affect
On me
But he does
And it's oh so powerful
He can make me both laugh and cry
He has such strong influence over my emotions
And it scares me so
I'm supposed to be the one in control
I'm harsh and condescending on the outside
But soft and sweet inside
With any other I can be overpowering
No one tries to refuse my rule
All know that my path is not to be crossed
But this boy
This one little boy
He defies all of that
When it comes to him I have lost all powers
I am no longer the one in control
He toys with my emotions
Unconsciously
And every element of him haunts me
His voice echoes in the back of my mind
His figure follows my shadow day by day
I can see his eyes
Watching me from across the room
From across the earth
He is still watching me
But why?
Why does this one child have so much authority over me
This one little boy can bring me to my knees
He makes me feel like everything's ok
Even when it isn't
This one little boy
He's made such a difference in my life
I don't know whether to thank him
Or to blame him for my misfortunes
This one little boy
In one powerful storm
I hear his whisper
In the calm ocean
I see his figure on the horizon
He watches over me
He sees me
And I meet his gaze from across the room
His eyes burn into mine
They are filled with innocence and mischief
And throughout all of this
I see him
Laughing.
