On July 1, 1992, I embarked on a 14-month cycling tour from London England to Cape Town, South Africa. My goal was to visit African projects funded by Save The Children Fund and then fund-raise in Canada. I ended up doing quite a bit of fund-raising in South Africa, instead. I had dozens of public-speaking engagements in schools, universities, clubs and had many memorable newspaper, radio and TV interviews. I met hundreds of selfless people who helped me en route by providing me shelter, a warm meal, who nursed me when I was seriously ill, or simply who gave me directions. It is to these people that I dedicate this part of my website. |
