My Photo Gallery

First, the legal junk
All pictures are the copywritten property of David Jeffers. Unauthorized use or distribution of the images could result in legal action. In english, Please do not steal my images. If you would like to use any on your Website, just ask and I'll more than likely give you permission with a stipulation of linking to my site if you have a section for links. The images linked to are of relatively poor quality to keep the bandwidth down and are not suitable for printing, if you would like prints of anything, contact me and I'm sure we could work something else. It's not my intent to sell my images for a profit, I just want to share them so other's can hopefully enjoy them as much as I do. If the images aren't personal or don't contain images of my friends, I'm more than happy to arrange printed copies. This site is a hobby and I code everything by hand so there are sure to be plenty of typos and formatting glitches, if you would like to bring any problems to my attention I will gladly fix them. Also, all images are stored on PhotoBucket, a free site for hosting images. I highly recommend it to anybody looking to host images online. Unfortunately, the site goes down every now and again so if you can't see any of the images that's most likely the problem. If only an image or two don't show up it's most likely a coding error on my part.

OK, now that that's out of the way...a little information about myself
My name is David Jeffers and I'm a 30 year old Graphics Support Project Manager in Upstate NY. Other than point and click camera's I've never really been into photography until April 2004 when I got my Canon PowerShot S1 IS. More than a point and click camera, less than a DSLR, it's a great camera that I'm starting to unlock the potential of and it's getting me more and more interested in photograpy. I'm slowly but surely learning the how to use the manual settings to get better pictures as well as how to improve/alter the images after they are transfered to my computer.

My Camera Setup

Storm Pictures

A few little lightening bolts.
Faint bolt, not too bright.
This one is my favorite!
I like the way this one passes through the little cloud
Another big, bright one. Unfortunately I got part of my awning in this shot.
I love this one.

Mills and Vanderbuilt Mansions
Hyde Park, NY

The reflection of the sky and a tree in some puddles on a rock by the side of the river.
Same picture with a little different settings.
Train tracks taken from an overpass in the park.
Taken quite a while after the first picture, I heard a train coming so I ran back over to get the pictures...unfortunately I didn't have time to adjust the settings so the sky overburned and I didn't any blue.
The train getting closer....
The train's here!
Looking up at a vibrant tree and sky.
This is actually 5 pictures of Mills stitched together. There is one seam REALLY noticeable and another one that's kinda noticeable. This was my first stitch assist picture and I'm pretty happy with it.
Mills mansion from down a hill laying in the grass. Apparently they are restoring the building and the one corner is yet to be done so it looks discolored.
I did both mansions in one day and the sky was just perfect. Can't remember which one I took this at. All the following pictures are from Vandy.
I like this picture, taken leaning against the mansion between two of it's colums. Kinda boring scene, but I love the framing.
Beautiful view of the Hudson River from Vanderbuilt.
A different angle of the front colums.
The side of Vanderbuilt.
Pretty much the same picture but using the camera's built in Sepia Filter.
Great picture showing the view that can be had from inside the mansion.
Picture from the Formal Garden at Vanderbuilt.
I LOVE this picture...taken using the built in "Vivid" affect. I have versions without the option, but I just love the textures and deep color saturation.

My Florida Vacation

The sun rising over the Atlantic in Cocoa Beach.
Another view of the horizon as the sun is rising.
Sunset (along with smoke from a wildfire) from the Cocoa Beach Pier.
The sun setting over Port Canaveral on the way out into the Atlantic on our Casino Cruise (I lost my shirt).
The sun just finished setting inland.
Someone venturing out into the Ocean on a Katamarand or whatever they're called.
A palm tree with the sun behid it illuminating the picture.
The moon framed by some palm trees at 1am. My friend and I were messing around playing with shutter speeds and stuff after having a few...ummm...beverages.
A cute baby seal my friend was feeding so he kept coming back for more.

Hunter Mountain
Fall 2003

These were all taken with my old Minolta DiMage F100. 4.1MP with all Auto settings.
A different perspective from a curve on the road up the Mountain.
Camera resting on the guardrail.
Under the bridge by the falls on the way up.
A turn in the road.
The camera resting on the ground looking up the mountain road.
There was just something about this tree on top of the cliff that grabbed my attention.
Cool picture of the sun mostly obstructed by trees.
A field in Saugerties (home of Woodstock '94) on the way to Hunter.

Images Manipulated in PhotoShop

My friend took this picture of me and some other friends on the Kraken at Sea World, Orlando. It was a much larger shot so the blown up area in this picture is a bit fuzzy, but I love the way this one turned out.
Taken with my old Minolta, this is one of my favorite pictures editied down to just the yellows. The foliage is awsome (and the unedited picture is above) but I like the BW/Yellow effect.
Keeping with the BW+Color theme here is a fun one taken with my old Minolta DiMage F100.
While probably not one of my best, this is probably my favorite.
A rose that turned out pretty cool looking.
My first attempt at at BW+Color...I've come a long way.
