Snow
In March 2006 I traveled to
Prague, Czech Republic from Vienna. This series of photographs are part of the
visual documentation of this visit.
Arriving in March, I had expected the beginning of Spring, and was
surprised by the unusual heavy snowfalls and chilling winter weather I
experienced.
The snowstorms came a day after
we had arrived in the city and as my partner had never seen snow, I shared with
her in a kind of child-like wonder as we discovered snow-laden Prague.
The snow in Prague is a bit
like a glove fitting the hand. Snow some how belongs there and it is this simple
‘magic’ that I tried to capture in these photographs.
I included the photograph “The
Performer” as moments after this
performance. the snows came. Perhaps as the actor wears the mask, Prague manages
to seduce her visitors with her own special mask…the snow.
