Round 1
David Hasselhoff vs. Greg Maddux
Greg Maddux started the dance-off with a routine to the 80's classic "Footloose."  This high-energy routine consisted of various spins and cartwheels mixed with repeated use of his pitching motion and pick-off moves.  Donning his old Atlanta Braves uniform, the Cubs pitcher also incorporated what appeared to be rudimentary ballet-style movements.  The end of his routine featured 3 swings of an imaginary bat and a point to the sky.  The exhausted Maddux left the dance area to an appreciative applause, cheering immediately outdone by the arrival of David Hasselhoff.  For his routine, David Hasselhoff, noting Greg Maddux's extreme hatred for the German language, chose a song of his own, "Du," a German-language song.  Greg Maddux showed immediate discomfort as David Hasselhoff moved gracefully to the beautiful German music.  David Hasselhoff's unique dancing style, which mixed the aggression of breakdancing and the vulnerability of ballet, tantalized the crowd.  Midway through the routine, David Hasselhoff stood up and directed a series of pelvic thrusts toward the direction of the increasingly furious Maddux.  David Hasselhoff turned around, and in that split second Maddux charged David Hasselhoff and threw a punch.  David Hasselhoff instinctively ducked and did his patented Kicking Somersault Assault, shattering Maddux's sternum (pictured above).  David Hasselhoff finished his routine by spinning Maddux on his finger and tossing him into a dumpster.
