| I was born in London and went to Priestmead Infant and Primary school in Kenton. Later I went onto a boarding school in Buckinghamshire called St Christopher's. My last full time education establishment was to be Chandos School. Leaving school I went on to my first job as a telegram boy at Edgware Post office, and college in London part time. Following my employment as a ticket clerk at Belmont, Harrow and Wealdstone and Bushey and Oxhey stations, From I left to join the merchant Navy and trained at Sharpness in Gloucester. My first ship was the Ocean Coast, with my first trip made to Ireland. I made several other trips on other ships and visited many countries, among them the West Indies, America, Egypt, Syria, India, Australia, Japan etc Leaving the Merchant navy I joined the RAF and went to Cardington in Bedfordshire and then onto to Hereford. My first overseas posting was to Germany. It was in the RAF that I had my first brush with the Media. I became a DJ story reader and presenter on the Local Radio Station. I wrote all my own scripts. Leaving the RAF I went to work in a number of catering establishments in Sussex I.O.W. and in Bournemouth as a chef /come waiter. Returning home to live with my parents. I soon found myself a job as a off licence manager before getting a job as a baker�s rounds man. having recently passed my driving test. I joined the then Belmont players and was in several stage plays click DRAMA to see some of my more memorable performances It was whilst I was delivering bread and cakes in Luton that I met the woman who was to be my wife for 21 years. We married in 1969 and begat two daughters Tanya and Samantha. I was a freelance sports writer for a number of local papers, primarily for Football and cricket I was a qualified Referee also played soccer and cricket for a number of local teams and I was manager for a three local soccer teams from the early 70�s to the mid 80�s and ran my own business as a publisher of a local community publication called Herald. I sold the publication to a competitor and returned to London in 93 where I spent several years as a sales promotional consultant. During this time I won several holidays abroad and other awards for my sales expertise. Alas I was made redundant. Before my redundancy pay off had been exhausted I obtained a job as an advertising consultant in Edgware. On September 1st 2003 took up a position as the Editor in Chief of the London Insider Guides also in Edgware left on the 24th of January 2005 I am still with my current lady friend Roma for over 13 years I have one Grandson who was 10 this year 2006 |
