HANGING ON

[VERSE 1]
Another forty long hours working on my feet
Still a little short of making ends meet
Hard times seem to be all I know
When I feel like I’m finally at the end of my rope
I reach a little higher, grab a little more hope
Cause there ain’t no such thing as letting go
[CHORUS 1]
And I’m hanging on with all
I’ve got, make a little, give a lot
Fighting til the breath in
me is gone
I believe in God and family,
and they both take good care of me
So I don’t have to face the
world alone……
And that’s what keeps me
hanging on
[VERSE 2]
Got three little mouths at home to feed
They don’t know what it means to need
They can’t see we’re barely getting by
They just think I’m Superman
Much too young to understand
That I ain’t made of steel and I can’t fly
[CHORUS 2]
But I’m hanging on with all
I’ve got, take a little, give a lot
Never sure if I’m right or
wrong
I’ve got good friends and
family, they all put their faith in me
And I’m the one that has to
be strong…..
And that’s what keeps me
hanging on
[BRIDGE]
I pray to God every day
To give me the will…. to find a way
[VERSE 3]
Monday morning I’ll be on my feet
Doing what it takes to make ends meet
Running hard with my face in the wind
Giving thanks to the Lord above
For taking care of the ones I love
Holding tight til the day my ship comes in
[CHORUS 3]
And I’ll hang on with all
I’ve got, turn a little into a lot
I’ll fight until the breath
in me is gone
Cause I believe in God and
I’ve got good friends, a wife that loves me to no end
And I won’t ever face this
world alone…..
And I’ll just keep on
hanging on
