Use this table to determine range between 2 different radio range types

Base is a 50km radio with a 3m to 10m high mast and a high gain antenna system

Example unit A is using a 2km Hand radio unit B is using 50km vehicle Radio

Cross-reference the 2 and you get 10 km maximum range

Optional Range rules

+1 range band if operating from hilltop or high building

+1 range band if using mast and antenna

-1 range band if blocked by hill

Effects are cumulative

Example 1. Unit A using a 2km radio unit B using 5km radio from hilltop

B +1 for hilltop 5km = 25km range now is 7.5km

Example 2. Unit A using 5km radio on hilltop and using mast and antenna unit B using 5km radio on hilltop

A +1 for hilltop +1 for mast and antenna total +2, 5km = 50km range

B +1 for hilltop, 5km = 25km range

Cross-reference and you get 35km range
