Name: Daisy (aka Daisy May - per the Mama - or Daisy Duke, Daisel, the Duke, or DnD - per Dave - or Stripey or Whiney - per me)

DOB: 4/14/98

Likes: Open windows, string on the floor, twist ties on the floor, catnip on the floor, catching a few winks on the bed, pounce treats on the floor, canned food (the smellier the better), power snoozing on the couch, sleeping with Frey on his giant pillow, Dave's socks on the floor

Dislikes: Fingers shaken at her, kibble-level below 1/3 in the bowl, earthquakes, Marley, the orange tabby that lives along the back hill, long or short-haul flights

Chillin' on the couch...

Daisy helping build the bookcase...

Daisy, her original nicknames were "stripey," "spotty," "whiney," was the product of a pure bred Bengal getting out and painting the neighborhood red (as in light district).

Daisy acquired her name from two sources... the first being that the daisy is one of my favorite flowers, the second that she has a black skunk-like stripe down her back. I was going to call her "Stinky" but was talked out of it... I didn't want to tempt fate as it were.

I know, "what does a skunk stripe have to do with Daisy?" The only famous skunk I could think of was Flower (from Bambi), but it was just too plain for her.

So what were my favorite flowers? Dahlia sounded like a stripper, Rose was too plain, and Daisy... well... she answered to it and it fits her...

She is the baby of the family... a position she revels in! I cannot take in a younger cat, her feelings would be far too hurt if I did. Her best friend was Frey. She hasn't taken to Marley yet, but he loves to chase her! She is the equivalent of the whiney child and I often ask her if she'd like some cheese to go with it.

In June of 2003 we nearly lost Daisy to a mysterious cat illness (liver problem?) that caused her to lose 30% of her body weight. We were lucky and got her on the mend... she weighs in at between 15 and 18 lbs... no more thin cats for us!!!

Daisy is the epitome of the affectionate and playful tabby and is the last cat I'll ever have (no cat could EVER match her or Rio)... and will make mischief even where there is none to be found!
