Off the beaten PATH (or my life off exit 14C of the Jersey Turnpike)

Under Construction...

In 1997 I left DC... best move i ever made. In an ice storm I moved up to Jersey City, NJ (just across the Hudson from NYC). My good friend Laurie was (as still is) residing in the area.
I met some incredible folks--Danny, Juele, Dave D., Xerxes... and some incredibly nasty folks who will remain nameless (damned tin can Yankees! ;) )

It was also here that the Indie Press started to go great gangbusters, and then slip into hibernation... but it was a great experience and I met interviewed and covered some outrageous bands!

My apartment was amazing (and amazingly expensive too!) as it was situated in the top of an old factory... the Dixon Mills pencil factory to be precise. I loved the apartment and I could see the top of the World Trade Center and the upper 3/4 of the Empire State Building from the second bedroom. Of course, the "balcony" was Laurie's favorite part of the place ;)
