In the Name of god Amen. The last day of Januarye in the yeare of our Lord 1618, I William
BUTCHER of Henlye in the parish of Box, county Wilts, diocese Sarum, yeoman, sicke and
weake in body but of good and perfect remembrance Praysed be god for it, doe heare make
and ordayne my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge :
First I commend my soule unto the hands of Almighty god my maker and redeemer, trusting
to be saved by the mercitte of the death and passion of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ And
my bodye I commend unto the Earth untill the Resurrection of the Juste.
Secondlye all my worldlye goods which god hath lent me to use in this life I dispose as
followeth.
First unto Robert & Anne the son & daughter of my son Robert BUTCHER I give and
bequeath ---- sheepe & ---------. All the rest of my goods and chattels and ---- whatsoever not
given nor bequeathed I give and bequeath unto Sicely my wife and Robert my son equally to
be divided betwixt them, whom I make my executors of this my last will to see my debts &
legacies payd & my fumerall expenses discharged.

beds, bedsteads etc    3 iron chayres.
Wheat and barley, threshed and unthreshed, valued 33 shill and eightpence
14 chests, 3 fleshes of bacon and a halfe 31 shill and eightpence
half acre of wheat 5 shill
2 kine heifers & a yearling     5 Li (pounds)

30 sheepe          5 Li (pounds)
