Warminster, 1728 as 1 John Butcher, proved date uncertain, 1728 Transcribed b David Church Copied for MPL Wall From Trowbridge RO collection In the Name of God Amen, I John Butcher of Warminster in the County of Wilts mercer being in helth of Body and of sound and disposing mind memory & understanding Doe make & ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner & forme following (that is to say) Impris I will that my Debts and ffunerall Charges be first paid and satisfied Item I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Anne Langley of Warminster aforesaid widdow and to her Heirs and Assigns for ever All that my three Messuages or Tenements and the Backside thereunto adjoining & belonging Scituate and being in Warminster aforesaid on the North side thereof one whereof is in my owne Pos.ion and the other two are in the pos.ion or occupation of Thomas Squire & William Yockney my Tenants And also all those my ffourteen acres & an half of Arrable Land lying dispersedly in the Common ffields of Warminster and Corsley in the said County of Wilts and also all my ffour acres & an halfe Of Meadow and pasture Ground in the said Parish of Warminster And also all my Rever??? Right And Interest of in and to the House Tenem.ent or Cottage Malthouse Garden & premises wherein Thomas Turner now dweleth scituate in Portway in the said Parish of Warminster and which the said Thomas Turner now holds of me by Lease for Lives And also all other my Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditam.ents and premisses whatsoever in the said parishes of Warminster and Corsley or elsewhere in the said County of Wilts and all my Right Tithe and Interest therin and thereunto Or which I shall or may Have at any time hereafter therein & thereto to have & to hold the s.d Severall Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and premisses beforementioned unt and to the sole use of her the said Anne Langley Her Heirs and Assigns for ever. Upon this Condition neverthelesse and subject to and chargeable with The Legacy or Sume of ffive hundred pounds of lawfull Brittish money Which said Legacy or Sume of ffive hundred pounds I hereby will direct and devise shall be paid out of the abovementioned Premisses or by sale or Mortgage thereof unto my Grandaughter Anne Langley at her Age of One & twenty years or day of marriage which shall first happen And in the meane time the Interest Thereof to be applied for & towards her maintenance 'till the s.d Legacy shall become due. Item I give and bequeath unto my Son in Law William Wilton of Warminster aforesaid Gent.. the Sume of ffive Pounds of lawful Brittish money And to his wife Mary Wilton my Daughter the like Sume of ffive Pounds. Item I give and bequeath unto my Grandaughter Mary the now wife of Samuel Temple Gent.. The sume of ffive pounds of like lawful money and also ffive pounds more of like money to him the Said Samuel Temple Item I give and bequeath to my Gradson John Langley the sume of ffive Pounds of like money. Item all the Rest and Residue of my Reall &Psonal Estate Goods Chattells and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever I give devise and bequeath unto my s.d Daughter Anne Langley Widdow.
