Once in a while, I need to play in circumstances which are not really healthy and friendly
to guitars, such as park, parties, camp fire, beaches etc.
I bought this guitar to meet this requirement. It is not a 100% hand-made, instead it's semi-manufactured by a famous Japan guitar
manufacturer, Matsuoka, and it is quite strong against hard circumstances due to the
lacquer finishing and the strong structure Matsuoka is famous for.
In 1970's, Ryoji Matsuoka manufactured guitars with 3 models, based on Fleta, Hauser and Rubio. Because of
the complicated structures, especially the Fleta one, from the late 1970s, they stopped producing those 3
models, and they started producing only Ramirez
models, which are still being produced up to now. In the 1990s, they started building a Matias Damman
model, under "Aranjuez" label. Just recently, I noticed they began to reproduce the Hauser models.
I was so lucky to get this Fleta model, which is very rare nowadays.
As you can guess, it has full of power especially
in the bass part. The basses, my really favorite, have clear and quite long sustains
in all positions.
The trebles are OK basically, but unfortunately it lacks some depth in the tone (in
other words, too light). What is good about the treble sound is that it is not too dark, but
it has a little bit spruce-like sweetness in it.
The neck is some kind too big for my fingers (neck width in the nut could be around 53 - 54mm,
I believe). Appearances are completely like a Fleta, from the head shape, the rosette and the plantila.
Only the tuners, the materials, and the sound, of course, are different.
