Another English guitar in the collection. It is said that it was David Russell (US), one of
the leading guitarists in the world, who found and introduced this guitar to the world (he owned
and used Gee guitar before). For more information about Michael Gee and his guitars, please

This # 411 guitar is made from spruce/indian rosewood. The sitka spruce has so many
medullary rays (horizontal lines perpendicular to the grains). The purfling is maple, which
is soothing to the eyes. The veneer of the headstock, as you can see in the picture below,
is made from burr root of a big leaf maple tree. Very unique and enchanting, to me.
Another uncommon feature of the guitar is the saddle. It has 6 separated saddles (like the
one used in John Gilbert guitars, but this one is not made from metal, instead the material
is the conventional bone).

I would describe the sound very smooth, somewhere in the middle between Spanish and
European (with more European sound proportion). It has refined, focused and a little bit sharp
trebles sound. The basses are not boomy but deep, creating a good balance vertically.
It has very elegant sound in the treble side. I love to play Bach, Giuliani, and Sor with this guitar.
The power is not so big but instead the projection seems to be good,
according to my friends. I need to try it in a hall someday.
Craftmanship is very fine. The guitar is very playable for the left hand.
I bought it from a professional English guitarist living in France who switched his profesion into a lute player.
That's why I could feel that this guitar is designed for a concert player, thus not suitable not for student-level.
