It's
not looking good. My contruction yard un-deploys and retreats
to prevent it being captured. |
 |
In
the words of the great Dave 'It's all gone tits up'. My
defence has been greatly reduced and my tanks are in retreat
in the bottom left. My helicopters take off and begin retreat. |
 |
My
forces are heading straight back to defend my vulnerable
base. Note my green men on the left, these guys can deploy
to create radiation, damaging all friendly and enemy units
in a large radius. |
 |
It's
the thing I could do. Off they go, killing the remnants
of Nova's army (with the exception of the flying units).
Only 3 of Nova's weak Lasher tanks make it through to face
my powerful Apocalpyse Tanks. Unfortunately, it does not
seem like I can do much to get his floating disks, which
are headed right for me. |
 |
In
a moment of sheer stupidty, Nova tries to send his Floating
Disks over the sea to attack my base from its rear. He fails
to realise my anti-air ships. Down they go. |
 |
A
moment of almost certain defeat is turned into a triumph.
As Nova's disks die, so does his hopes of winning in the
next, um, five minutes. |
 |
The
Home Guard. 3 harvesters with pitiful machine guns about
as powerful as pea shooters. Oh and there's a soldier there
too. Compare this to my glorious defence line from earlier.
Tut-tut-tut. |
 |
Quite
a while later: Nova's gay armyTM. He's building up the one
unit that he knows he can beat me with. What you can't see
here is that I've rebuilt my defence. I now have not just
1 line, but 3 lines of defence, and my base has been fortified
with bunkers and anti air. |
 |
He
claims he 'has' to go, and quits. I win! Dave's forces are
triumphant again, although the game did not end in glorious
battle, this is good enough for me. |
 |
Triumph:
The score screen. After a 1 hour 49 minute game (pretty
short for me and Nova) I get 619 kills and 239 loses, Nova
has 223 kills and 1310 losses. I've built far less units
than him and won. |
Well that
was that battle. If anyone cares, we were playing 'Command and
Conquer Red Alert 2' with the 'Yuri's Revenge' add-on pack.
The level was 'Big Game Hunters', which Nova made by copying
the well known Starcraft map.
