Update 03/29/01 |
Radius arms arrived friday the 16th. Also I have the motor and have it mostly assembled. Recieved my distributor this week ( Thank you Mr. Floyd) from an FTE classified for a lot cheaper than a new one. I have still not recieved my axle pivot bushings and am starting to become upset. It has been two months and still nothing. Stock rubber ones may be ordered if poly one don't show up soon. Otherwise check out my new photos and hope to have more soon. |

Update 03/15/01 |

Engine will be in my hands tommorow. Had to be bored out and got all new parts for it. Frame is painted black and rear end and leaf springs are installed. Radius arms were shipped out on the 12th of march should be here tommorow also. Still waiting on axle pivot bushings (I don't know why it is taking 2 months to get them). Next step is to get fuel & brake lines ran before puttin engine, tranny, and driveshaft back in. I will have to get new Engine mounts because the ones I had were incorrect. All in all it is finally coming together. I have crossed over the hill and I am starting back down now stuff is going back together instead of coming apart. AWESOME |

Update 2/11/01 |
Well I have the frame painted with the rust proofing paint, now I have to get the black layer on. The EFI engine was taken in to the shop to see if it is worth rebuilding. I will find out more next week. Have to locate new radius arms because mine are a litte rusted at the pivots. I think I found some at Ford Obsolete Parts and will get them ordered next week also. I am waiting for axle pivot bushings have new cab mount bushings and have the broken leaf spring repaired. Should have the frame all done by the end of the month and by then the engine should be ready to assemble (at least the block should). Then I can concentrate on the body work, this will be the hardest part for me but I WILL get it done. Well wish me luck and check back soon. The saga continues.
Oh by the way I did find a good bed (Thanks to the Ford Truck Enthusiast List) and that will cut down on the amount of body repair I have to do. |

Well I haven't done a whole lot lately. I have been busy with my new job and getting situated. I do have the truck down to the frame and have gotten the first layer of paint on the frame. Mother nature is holding me back as it is hard to paint in 2ft of snow and a temp of just above 0 degrees.
I am however on a neverending quest to find a rust free bed for my project. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!! I am having a hard time finding any without the rust cancer.
As the new year comes I will get this thing done no matter what. |

Update 11/20/00 |

I pulled the cab off the frame, cleaned the frame and started to paint it. It is starting to get to cold to do much painting so I will probably start with rewiring the EFI to make it fit on the truck. I may also start on the engine work or maybe body work ( welding in patch panels ). I don't know exactly but I better do something or else it will never get done. Wish me luck. |

Update 08/11/00 |

I GOT IT!!! I found an engine for my blue pickup. I found a fuel injected 4.9L engine out of a 1987 3/4 ton Econoline van. I pulled it out last weekend (8/5). It took 6 hrs. to pull it out. I pulled the majority of parts I will need to make the old truck fuel injected. I still have lots of work ahead but I will keep this page updated. Be looking for some new pictures coming soon. |

Update 07/22/00 |

Nothing has happened lately because I just haven't felt like doing anything. I am working on getting an engine for the blue truck. Since I last updated this page I got the brown truck back on the road and have been driving it with the engine out of the blue truck. I lost my pictures of the rest of the dissasembly so I can't share those with you but now the fun begins. I have to start spending money to get it back together. I want to get started before I am out of school in September. |
