Well what do you know I finally got the project painted. Thanks to Larry (the guy who did all the hard work) my truck is back and looking beautiful!!! So it has been 2 months or so since an update and what an update it is. What has happened you ask? Well first as was stated in the last update it was up and running and tore back apart in prep for the paint. I spent a weekend hauling it down to Indiana to be painted by a guy my buddy knows. So I took it down and to my surprise 2 weeks later it was all ready to be picked up. As you can see by the picture I drove down there the day after it was done and picked her up on a U-haul trailer and towed it home. the 4 pictures you see were taken a week after I got it back and put the grille and bumper on.
So now I am waiting until I get back from vacation at the end of June to go full bore on finishing the thing.
Stuff left to do:
1: Paint the firewall black
2: Put Engine back in
3: Put drivetrain back in
4: Get differential rebuilt
5: Have Rhino Liner sprayed in
6: Have new windsheild and back glass put in
7: Get PLATES AND INSURANCE AND DRIVE THE DARN THING FINALLY!!!!!!!!
So soon the beast will be on the road I will definetly let you all know when that time comes, as for now wish me luck

The Project vehicle and the CRAZY idea |

Goal: To create a truck which will be as dependable as a new truck and as good looking as a new truck except with unique STYLE
Steps to be taken to accomplish goal:
#1- to replace old 300 six which uses a single barrel carb and replacing it with a new/rebuilt Fuel Injected 300 six from a late model truck
#2- tear truck completely down to frame and replace all worn parts that are easy to replace while the entire vehicle is dissasembled
#3- ensure that all body parts are in repairable shape and replace/repair as needed to prepare for a complete paint job
History of project truck
This Truck was purchased in Feb. 2000 from a guy I used to work with. The truck was first purchased with the Idea that all the new parts in it would be put in my current vehicle to get it back on the road after a slight accident. But once I discovered that it was in half way decent shape (compared to my other truck) I deceided to make it my next vehicle. I figured by the time I get it done my old brown truck will be on its last leg. (and was I more right than I know hahaha) |

This is the newest addition to the fleet. I purchased it in April 2001 for my magic price of $300 dollars. It is an F250 with 168,000 miles on it and was in bad shape when I got it. The truck has a 351M and a NP435 tranny with granny first. This truck was bought just to pull my camper up north for one hunting season because the rear had gone in my F150. This truck is a work horse and regularly hauls over a ton of rock and whatever you throw at it. It is also used to haul the project truck around (since I can't drive the project yet. |

This POS is a my 84' tempo. It was purchased after the brown truck decided to eat a 88' toyota for breakfast. So I bought this junker to drive back and forth between MI and Fort Wayne while I was going to school. I will soon be rid of this piece of junk. |

This truck and I have been through alot, it currently has 207,000 miles on it and counting. I bought this truck in March of 1997 with 121,000 miles on it. It has a 300 six with a 3speed on the column. I have repaired or replaced every moving part on this truck and now believe that I can change out any patrt in under 20 minutes. This truck has been used to pull trailers driven up to northern michigan many times and tried to be a 4 wheel drive, I love this truck. Although now it seems to have it's moods I think it is old age. But hopefully I can hold onto it a while longer not sure if I could ever junk it. |
