Rules of the Game
General Rules:
Each team shall consist of 50 players.
No player shall be on more than one team.
To be considered a celebrity, the player must be found on the "Good to Go" list.
Official death declarations are made on "The Casualty List" with death defined as being reported by a major national news organization including an official date of death by a coroner or other governing body.  There are two exceptions:
Local celebrities can be drafted with fame being agreed upon at the time of drafting
Death by capital punishment does not count toward your total.  Someone with a death penalty judgement who dies of other causes does count toward your total.
One point is awarded for every death of a celebrity on your team, during the game year.
No points are awarded for the death of a player not recognized as a celebrity per the above lists.  Note that it is possible for someone to be recognized as a celebrity posthumously.  Should that occur, a point will be awarded at that time.
The team with the most points wins.  If there is a tie, the winner will be determine by tie breaker in the following order:
The person with the greatest number of non-famous dead people on their team.
The person with the greatest sum of the rounds in which each dead celebrity was drafted.
A chili cook off judge by the managers not involved in the tie breaker.
No team manager is allow to physically help a player on any team, including there own, achieve death.
Should this occur, the team manager will forfeit the season, be permanently banned from the Death Pool, and likely face jail time.
There can be no trading of players between teams.
Pick ups and drops may only occur at the beginning of the year during the replacement draft.
Results become official on January 10th of the following year.  No retroactive points are awarded.
Rules of the Replacement Draft:
Draft order is determine by the previous years record with the worst record getting the first selection.
Managers must draft enough players to replace all dead players on their team.
The draft will have the same number of rounds as the number of players dead / disqualified on the winning team.
Once a manager fills their team with living players, they may continue to draft new players, after first dropping a current player, until all rounds of the draft have been completed..
For the purpose of future tie breakers, the newly drafted players will be placed at the top of the team's list of players.
Managers shall not draft people known to them on a personal level.
Managers shall not draft people under the age of 18 at the time of the draft.
Drafted players must live 24 hours after the draft time to be allowed.  Should the player die within 24 hours of being drafted, the manager will be allowed a replacement pick at no penalty.  Players taken between the time of invalid draft pick and the replacement pick shall be considered drafted and are not available for the replacement pick.
