Energy Shield
Corik remembered the energy shield he had picked up earlier, and immediately flicked it on from his belt. A bright blue beam enveloped his entire body, lining his body’s form and shape and covering him completely. He continued to block shots but when he missed one, the shield absorbed the blow of the laser.
He realized soon enough with the energy shield on he had a good chance to dart through the tunnel without being scathed. Thus, he did just that. He flew with lightning speed, deflecting what shots he could while the rest merely hit his shield and were no more. After about 20 seconds of this he heard a buzzing noise. The shields levels were depleting. He gave his legs the extra burst of speed they needed to get him out of the tunnel as the shield cut out from abuse depleted power.
In front of him he saw, as he caught his breath, a blast door similar to the ones of Capula headquarters. Around it was a metal wall that covered up to the edges of the tunnel sides. He looked back at the tunnel full of cannons, which were now beginning to disarm. With nowhere to go but forward, he hit the switch on the control panel and walked through the door.
