Defensive Stance
He had mastered the art of defensive combat thanks to Master Edem. He had extreme focus on the blaster bolts, and he kept his blade close to his side. He could use that to traverse the tunnel, hopefully making it through unharmed.
He clung to the side of the wall, crouched, and began strafing sideways. In this way he meant to minimize the target area, thus decreasing the amount of movement he needed to keep himself protected. It was a tedious process, as tedious and long as Corik’s practice fights at his best against Master Edem. However, unlike Master Edem’s victory time and again, he could win against these blasters. Ten, perhaps twenty minutes later (he was too involved to be conscious of the time) he had reached the other side. He retracted his saber and took his first deep breath since having stepped into the tunnel. On the ground was an unscathed piece of metal plating, apparently from off of one of those heavy cannons. He picked it up as he eyed the door in front of him.
The door’s structure looked like that of the headquarters he had been in not long ago. Around it a metal wall spread to the tunnel sides and covered the path in front of him. He looked back at the tunnel, and having nowhere else to turn but back, headed inside the door.
Corik has acquired a sheet of armor plating!
