He hit the buttons in that order, lighting up the three sections as he pressed them. When they were all lit he looked toward the machine, hoping for something to happen. Suddenly the robots arms dropped off as if disconnected or severed and its center began to energize and glow bright blue. Corik braced for another beam to come flying at him, but instead he began to notice slits in the robot emanating the same blue light. The contrivance was combusting from the inside, and combust it did. A surge of blue energy like electricity suddenly covered the entire mechanism and it exploded into bits, followed by a quaking boom that rocked Corik’s ears and feet. When these guys went for effect, they sure did a good job he thought as he recovered and began walking among the shattered pieces.
As he reached the other side of the tunnel, he picked up a piece of armor plating from the robot, its luster emanating a bright silver. He threw it with the rest of his pack; perhaps it would come in handy later. He then observed the blast door ahead of him. It looked the same as the one in Capula headquarters, and the metal wall around it was of resemblance as well. He took a deep breath, and without further interruption headed through the door for whatever awaited him.
