Initially believed to be a 3rd/4th place contender, Ukraine came out ahead of the likes of World Cup '02's 3rd placed Turkey, Denmark and European Champions Greece. With a group like that Ukraine weren't given much chance. Led by Andriy Shevchenko (6 goals), Ukraine not only won games, but won well with results like 3-0 over Turkey and only 1 loss all campaign. They will be an exciting debutant come the world cup. |
