| Despite a bumpy road, Korea have managed to hitch a ride to Germany. Expecting to win all six of their stage two matches, Korea were held by the Maldives (0-0) and Lebanon(1-1) but still saw their way to the top of the table. Two losses to Saudi Arabia were the only of their campaign while Uzbekistan also managed to take a point at home to Korea. However steadily gaining points allowed them to secure passage to their sixth successive world cup. Korea set their campaign around the scoring abilities of Lee Dong Gook who was clearly top scorer with six goals. |
