GERMANY NEWS
After an amazing performance that lead them to the World cup final in '02, Germany have found themselves in somewhat of a rebuilding phase.  The nucleus of the squad is still there with Oliver Kahn and Michael Ballack the defensive and attacking mistros' of the German squad.

In 2005, Germany managed to take third place in the Confederations Cup after beating Mexico 4-3 in extra time mostly on the back of their attacking prowess.  Their defence leaked 10 goals in 5 matches while the attack netted 16. And while goals win matches, Germany will need a tighter defence to replicate '02's performance
