| Despite being ranked so highly in world football, the Czech Republic will make their debut at the World Cup in Germany after they defeated Norway 2-0 on aggrigate in their two-legged playoff. The Czechs were relegated to the playoff position thanks to an impressive Dutch side that topped a group featuring the top two ranked European nations in the world (as at November '05) Jan Koller produced some fine finishing, scoring nine times for the Czech's and taking second place in Europe's top goalscorers list during qualification. Despite having to go through a play-off, the Czech's will be a force come Germany '06. |
