Range: Indo Pacific
My recommended minimum tank size: 100 gal.
Feeding: Unlike many in the Tang family the Hippo Tang likes lots of meaty foods like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, chopped krill, and any of the herbivor veggie foods. Feed several times a day.
Reef compatibility: Usually not a problem in any reef tank.
Aquarium care: A long time favorite in the hobby because of it's bright blue color and personality. If tank conditions aren't very good this fish can be prone to skin parasites and lateral line desease. It is not considered an overly aggressive fish and usually will not bother other fish except it's own kind. Every suitable aquarium should have a blue Tang.
Still growing and very healthy. Tries to rule the tank but the Trigger thinks otherwise. Now just over 5".
