I have been constructing these mobiles since the mid "80's". It started out just as a hobby (and still is),
then I found customers who wanted to purchase the mobiles so decided to
sell my work. I don't sell to many of the Mobiles these days, but I
still construct them for various reasons {family and friends}. All
the designs are made by myself then I cut the wire, shape it, and solder all the connections.
These mobiles are made from copper wire that has been bent into various shapes and soldered together. I have various forms that I have come up with that seem to be the most requested. Even though these shapes may look the same, all mobiles are unique in the fact that no two are cut, bent, and soldered exactly the same. All mobiles are two dimensional. If you would like me to build a design of your own, send an email to Daves Copper Mobiles with a picture or a list of shapes that you would like built into a mobile to have put on the website. I recently made a mobile of hummingbirds for someone that I know, but I did not get a picture for the website before I gave the mobile to her. I will have to build another so that I can add it to the site. I have built some three dimensional mobiles, but these were one of a kind designs. Some of these designs that I've built are a Bass Boat, an Evolution Engine, a set of planes from World War II and a Harley-Davidson Motorcyle which is on a shelf above my work bench. I'm planning to add more designs to my collection in the future. I'm open to suggestions, so fill free to email me with an idea. |
