Personal History:
Born on Sagitara, Troy lived under the shadow of the great and famous Hector the Hammer Corvus and his mother Ariadne. The elder Corvus was a cold and domineering father with an ego that far outstripped his abilities as a parent. One of the best pilots that ever flew a Viper amongst the twelve colonies, Hector was always away onboard the Battlestar Pegasus racking up kill after kill. Whenever he was home on leave, the pilot much beloved by Warriors among the colonies was cold and aloof towards his only son. Always eager to please, Troy was always scorned by his father as never being good enough or never trying hard enough. Nothing ever seemed to pleased his father.
When Troy was 11 yahrens old, his world was shattered when Hector left his family for good. Hector had grown tired of his estranged wife and found a pretty trophy girl nearly half his age. The next year, his new wife gave birth to a daughter Troy would never meet until many years later. Hectors visits to see his son Troy were far and in between and even when Troys triad team made it all the way to the national championships, Hector was conspicuously absent. Despite the crushing disappointments, Troy never gave up on his father. His hopes flared up briefly when Troy was in the Academy, his father visiting him a few times but it was more Hector visiting old friends among the faculty than checking up on his only flesh and blood. Then like a slap in the face, the old man found out his son was a good Viper pilot with great potential and bluntly told the young cadet he was an embarrassment to the name. Hector blamed his mothers side and really never heard from him again.
After his graduation from the Academy, Troy was assigned to the Battlestar Galactica. A young ensign with the Galacticas Gold Squadron, Troy proved himself more than just a very good pilot, although nowhere even near same league as Blue Squadrons infamous Starbuck. But where he lacked ability he made up for it with cool reasoning and tactics. He never lost his head in combat and never left his wingman. But despite his impressive service record, he was no Hammer Corvus, the yardstick for which he was always compared with. Working his way to XO of Gold Squadron where his administrative abilities even caught the eye of Commander Adama, Troy met and courted a nurse by the name of Charis. After a lengthy courtship, the two professed their love for each other and Charis became his fiance.
The luster had worn off over the passing years. Troy began to see his father as a greatly flawed man; proud, self-aggrandizing, arrogant, and selfish. He also found out about the many trysts, the gambling debts, the binges. Despite the aura of being a legend, Hector was a danger to himself and those that flew with him. No longer did Troy view the Hammer as a grand, mythological being, but a wreck of a man battling his own inner demons. Soon after his engagement to Charis, Troy was offered a staff position. He missed flying, but he was told it was part of the fast track to command. The future seemed bright for Troyhe was engaged to be married, his career was taking off and it looked like there was finally going to be peace with the Cylons.
How horribly wrong it all went. The twelve worlds had been betrayed by one of their own. The Cylons attacked during the peace conference, their fighter swooping undeterred almost at will, destroying most of the battlestar fleet and the twelve worlds. He would find out later that his father Hector went down fighting; commanding the Battlestar Akropolis in its final hours and installing himself as a Colonial hero for all time. During the initial Cylon waves, losses were so severe that Troy was forced to fly a Viper against the Cylon invaders. The number of enemy fighters were so vast, he still to this day does not understand how he survived. With the Galactica licking its wounds, Troy found himself placed in charge of rebuilding the once depleted Red Squadron. The challenges he faces are nearly insurmountable, including dealing with a half-sister he had never until now met before.
Personality:
Like his father and all the Corvuss before him, being a warrior pilot is in his blood. Not the best in the fleet, but he is very good nonetheless with his cool, rock steady nerves and a head for tactics. But unlike most pilots, Troy comes across as a reserved, quiet, soft-spoken man. Instead of flying off the cuff, he tends to take a moment to formulate his opinions or before taking action. Make no mistake, Troy can square off the best of them in the wardroom and acts decisively when the chips fall down. To blow off steam, he will hit the courts for a game of pick-up Triad or have a couple of beers while playing a few hands with his squadron mates.
Hobbies/Interests:
Playing triad, reading, working out.
Family:
Commander Hector Corvus-Father (Deceased), Ariadne Corvus-Mother (Deceased), Serafina Corvus-Half Sister.
