Letters to the editor

David Roberts: comedic genius

Dear Editor:

The O'Colly has truly found something special in David Roberts. Dave, your columns are absolutely hilarious.

I love your sarcastic sense of humor. Obviously, there is no way you could actually believe the crap you write.

That's what makes your stuff so funny. I laugh hysterically every time I read lines like, "...unless sex is performed within the bounds of marriage, it has nothing to do with love."

As if anyone actually has the right to tell others they are not in love.

You are able to expose the absurdity of all kinds of ignorant, backward ideas about life by adopting a Ned Flanders meets Preacher Bob at a Promise Keepers' convention point of view. That is pure, comedic genius. No sex on Valentine's Day — that's a good one.

Given all your great pieces — from the subservient role of women, to the one about prison being too easy —it's real hard to pick a favorite.

In the future, I'd love to see a column on the depravity of masturbation or the immorality of wearing fancy underwear.

You're a wild man, Dave.

Keep up the good work.
