After all, truth is such a hard pill to swallow for those who have been
gulping down lies for all of their lives.
Most would rather just continue to
live in their dream world, believing what they want. However, it is my God-given
duty to spread truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. This is my
disclaimer. Please heed it and take whatever action you deem necessary.
You, the reader, should first realize that liberals love to scare people — you included. They want you to believe that the world is coming to an end, and the only way to stop that is to place them into positions of power because they alone have the intelligence and ability to stop it. They want you to feel you are on the brink of disaster and thus, you must elect them into office so that the boogey man won't get you.
As far as the liberal Democrat is concerned, you are a faceless part of the utterly helpless masses. You can't think for yourself, take care of yourself or make any wise decisions for yourself. You need them for everything. They truly believe they are saviors of the world. This rubbish, friends, is just plain insulting.
The reason I've placed "cuts" in quotation marks is because what a liberal calls a "cut," in reality, is just a reduction in planned increase.
This may be a bit confusing, but let me break it down in a way such that a monkey could understand it. Let's say that I've been given $100 funding for the David Roberts Charity Foundation in the fiscal year 2000.
Now, let's say that the government, while planning the next year's budget, says, "Hey, the David Roberts Charity Foundation is an excellent program. Let's allot it $150 for the fiscal year 2001." That would be wonderful. But, what if later, they came back and said, "You know, maybe we shouldn't allot that much money to David's organization. We'll scale back his funding to $120 for the year 2001." That means that instead of getting an increase of $50 for the next year, I'd only be getting an increase of $20.
The intelligent reader will notice that I'm still going to have more funding for the year 2001 than I did for the year 2000. Yet, the extreme leftist liberal would scream and holler, "Cuts, the government is cutting all kinds of funding for this organization! How cruel! How heartless! Children will starve due to these 'cuts' in funding!"
Folks, are you seeing the absurdity here? Well, this is nothing new. This kind of thing goes on daily in the liberal camp. They love to tout "cuts" in Social Security, Medicare, education, etc.
They also want you to believe that programs like Social Security will suffer greatly if the tax surplus is not applied to them. This is a blatant falsehood! Social Security, Medicare and all the other programs listed by liberals already have an allotted amount of funding. The surplus belongs to you, the taxpayer.
If the extreme leftists in government really need additional money, why waste our money on things like a $200 haircut for President Clinton ora $6 million toilet seat (or was it a $30 million toilet seat?). Perhaps, they should do what everyone else does when faced with less money – that is to just do with less.
Let me summarize my point in this column.
The lie: "Cuts" in any government program mean that program will actually have less money in next year's budget to work with. If that program takes enough "cuts" there will be zero funding left for that program.
The truth: When a liberal screams, "Cuts," it actually just refers to a reduction in increase for the next year's budget. The budget for that program is still going to be more for the next fiscal year than for the current year. There just won't be as big of an increase as originally planned.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm sure that you have truly been enlightened up to this point. The intelligent reader will now be able to recognize fiery leftist rhetoric.
From now on, you'll be able to discern these flat-out lies when you hear a liberal on the news spouting this off. Don't believe them. Only a fool would gulp down liberal rhetoric without giving it much thought. It makes sense.
