Most people, I’m afraid, have begun to see the world through rose-colored
glasses. We’ve seen the fall of the Soviet Union and the defeat of Saddam
Hussein, and now the United States has become complacent in our military
approach. Although we’ve heard positive stories about the strength of our
military, we should not be deceived by such candy-coated rubbish. The opposite
is true. Much to the chagrin of top officials, the military really is in a state
of decline.
However, we don’t hear that report because our military is at
least intelligent enough not to broadcast their weaknesses.
I’ve realized something, and I want to make sure that each reader follows me carefully and understands this point. I am about to unleash a deluge of clandestine information from the Gore camp that only the most intuitive of people will pick up on. We all know that Gore is for bigger-more-controlling government.
Although he staunchly denied that claim during the debates, it is, in fact, true. Al Gore has claimed that government has decreased in size since he and Clinton took office in 1992. Really? According to Gore, the Clinton administration has cut 300,000 government jobs, thereby “streamlining” government. As usual, I, like most intelligent people, was a bit skeptical of this claim.
I knew something was fishy with that statement. After profound thought and research, I realized that Gore was being misleading at best. You see, most of those 300,000 jobs refer to downsizing of the military. Yes, that is correct — the only way for Gore to claim that he and Clinton reduced the size of the government is if he threw in the military cuts. This is inappropriate!
When I think of reducing the size of government, I think of reducing the number of bureaucrats, not number of people within the armed forces. Yet, Gore has spun this “decrease” in government as if it were a reduction in bureaucracy.
The sad truth is that the military is in a state of low morale. I happen to have close contacts within the military ranks, and the picture they paint is a bleak one. After all, their commander-in-chief is a pot-smoking draft-dodger. That can’t be good for morale. Now, one might say that Gore didn’t dodge the draft and therefore would improve morale. I assure you this isn’t the case. Regardless of how hard he tries to distance himself from Clinton, Gore will forever be in unison with Slick Willy. A vote for Gore truly is a vote for a third Clinton term. Polls today tell us that 73 percent of Americans wouldn’t vote Clinton into a third term if it were constitutionally permissible.
Friends, our military needs to be heavily factored into this year’s election. If our military continues to decline and be spread thin all over the globe, it won’t be long before nations like Iraq, North Korea and even Red China realize our weaknesses and exploit them. Our military needs a severe overhaul. The Bush-Cheney ticket provides real leadership and expertise to rejuvenate our military and return the United States to its place of global prominence. Bush and Cheney realize the true state of the military. They don’t peer through rose-colored glasses. We shouldn’t either.
