| Toastmasters April 2008 - present Club Member: Dave attends weekly Toastmasters meetings every Tuesday. Here Dave is trained in delivering speeches and impromptu speaking in front of an audience. Dave is also trained in what is required to conduct a meeting in an organised and intentional manner so that what needs to be covered is covered and the meeting runs to time. Gobsmacked Entertainment October 2007 - present MC, host, compere: Dave hosts and MCs promotions and games on behalf of Gobsmacked Entertainment at a variety of clubs, venues and company corporate and promotional events around Sydney and the Illawarra including Penrith Panthers, Sutherland Tradies, Club Merrylands and Lend Lease, to name but a few. Max Rowley Media Academy June 2007 - present Academy Student: Dave attends the Max Rowley Media Academy at Redfern weekly. Here, Dave is trained by Max in both radio broadcasting and TV presenting skills. Wollongong Golf Club March 2007 - present Compere: Dave hosts the golf club's Friday evening promotions between 5:30 and 8:30 PM including meat tray raffles, lucky door prizes, and member's badge draws, whilst promoting upcoming events at the club. Dave also hosts the Monday Fame Trivia show and MCs the golf club's functions and weddings as required. VOX FM 106.9 June 2006 � present Radio Show Host: Dave hosts The Supa Dave Breakfast Radio Show on the Illawarra's community radio station VOX FM 106.9 on Tuesday mornings between 6-8AM, as well as an hour-long interview radio show titled The Grapevine, 12-1PM Monday afternoons. To gain this role Dave underwent and passed VOX FM's training and submitted a demo tape that was passed at a board meeting. As part of his job as a breakfast announcer it is important for Dave to provide the listeners with an entertaining and humorous show to give them an energetic start to their day. Concentration and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously is a prerequisite that Dave must possess in order to provide a professional show for my listeners. Citybeach Function Centre April 2006 � present MC: Dave's role as an MC is to create a professional but fun environment for all of the guests and bridal party. Dave meets with the bride and groom prior to the wedding to introduce himself and to also finalise any important details that they may need to know about and for them to also have the opportunity to inform him of any specific details like name pronunciations and the order of speeches etc. Fame Trivia February 2004 � present Trivia Show Host: Dave has been a trivia show host for Fame Trivia, which is the largest trivia company in Australia since 2004. Dave originally attended an audition in Sydney and hosted shows in various venues until he moved to Wollongong in August 2004. Dave provides the patrons with his own unique style of fun, humour and the unexpected in a fast paced two hours of entertainment. Dave DJed for a variety of functions including weddings, birthdays, Christmas parties and corporate events etc. As with his other roles as stated previously Dave looked to provide the guests with a fun-filled and enjoyable atmosphere that would be memorable to all who attend. He did this by interacting with the guests to encourage them to either have a dance or request a favourite song. In his role as a DJ for Mobydisc Dave was required at times to also act as an MC. |
