I�m unique. Not because I say so. Not because you think so. Not because �everyone is special,� No matter what you say Mom. I�m unique because I want to be, Truly and heartfelt fully, Deep down inside, and on the outside too. I express myself most thoughtfully, For what I feel and who I am Are not just some picture show On display for attention. I am me and only me, And no one else is me, Beyond the reasons of DNA And the paradox of copies. There can be only one John David Muir That is me, truthfully and sincere.
So what? Who cares? Does it matter who I am? Does the world look at me and say,
�JD� you�re one in five billion uniques to walk my lands, So what makes you so special?�
Absolutely. Positively. Each and everyday. And every time it asks, To its question I reply,
�To you it may not matter what my presence means, But I plan to make this world a better place, I have hopes and I have dreams Of happiness for everyone I know and all those I don�t.�
�But my land is so big and the numbers are so huge, What can you do? Who can you touch? A simple student, you�re nothing much.�
Says the world to my prose, Which it�s heard so often, from so many others.
�A student I am, And it�s more than you think. The school is the place to gain knowledge, Build skills, extend my connections and links. What I can�t do alone, I�ll gather my friends And we�ll do it in numbers. A group of uniques, we all have our place, Contributing our talents, skills and ideas We can conquer any obstacle that is thrown in our face. I am a leader, and that is my strength. Through who I am and what I teach, I will inspire others to take a lead. And they too will do the same, With who they are and what they teach. Soon we�ll have incredible leaders on their feet. To take the world on, and make you a better place. All that can start with me.�
I am unique. The one and only me. I am one in one billion Who may try to make a difference. But I will do it my way, With my touch and my flare. I will make this world Smile again. I am unique. Go ahead and stare. |
