| 14.4.06 Following Jo's problems last weekend. She has had a scan at the hospital which showed everything was OK. This scan was to check the baby after Jo's fall and to find out why Jo is measuring larger than her dates. The reason Jo is large is because of a large baby! Must have the Dad's head! Jo has also been to see the Neurologist at Pinderfields who was very thorough and raised Jo's medication slightly. The next few weeks are a flurry of hospital visits with two visits to Dewsbury District to the Ante Natal ward and another visit to Pinderfields to see the consultant Dr Butterworth before he goes on his holidays. All is well except junior is having fun kicking Jo today and has managed to wedge a body part in a particularly awkward place, which is making Jo grumpy!! 6.3.06 Went for the scan today. The docs said that everything is OK and that we don't need to go back until 36 weeks. Click here for the scan photos. 12.2.06 Nursery furniture ordered today from Mamas & Papas. It should arrive in the middle of April and a nice man from Mamas & Papas will put it together for us. Click here for an image of the cot. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Needham for helping with the cost. Here's to looking stylish in bed! 8.2.06 Midwife visit. Everything is OK. Blood pressure spot on and the baby's heart was nice and strong. Next visit in five weeks or so! 21.1.06 We went to Guiseley today to check out the Silvercross prams and we decided on the Silvercross Linear in marina colour. Click Here to see a picture. The pram/push chair and car seat were purchased on the spot by Grandma and Grandad Percival which is greatly appreciated by us! Here's to looking stylish on walks ;-) 10.01.06 Dr Dave, I, Cashew a.k.a.Junior, have just returned from our booking-in appointment with our very nice Midwife. All seemed to go fairly well and she answered every question on a list I had prepared and taken with me! She filled in what seemed like a mountain of forms and asked about our family history, medical conditions etc. She also took my blood pressure and some of my blood (which made me grumpy - don't like needles!!) But this is so she could do some routine blood tests for my iron levels etc. Then she attempted to listen to Cashews heartbeat. He must have been behaving himself because she found it straight away and reported a very healthy and strong heartbeat. We were asked if wanted the 'triple tests' which are those which detect Downs syndrome etc and we declined those as the results would have no bearing on us whatsoever and we will love and cherish our little one no matter what. This decision is not a judgement on any other Parents-to-be who decide to have the tests as everyone is different and it is entirely an individual decision. Dave & I had spoken about it at some length before and weighed up all the pro's and con's and just decided that we would decline the tests. We were given a 'pregnancy pack' today which pleased us as we have seen all these other professional Parents-to-be at the hospital when we went for our scans with these packs and we felt left out! So now we have a designanted file to hold our notes (and urine sample bottles) in!! Our next appointment is with the Midwife in four weeks time so we will let you know how that goes then. 1.1.06 Click here to hear the babies heartbeat. We managed to link the doppler to the computer! 30.12.05 Doppler arrived today and we can now hear juniors heatbeat going like the clappers! Jo has renamed me 'Doctor Dave' for my ability in finding the right spot to hear the heartbeat.Midwife coming on the 10th January. 14.12.05 - First meeting with midwife. Nice lady and not too scary! Will see her again in January. 9.12.05 - Second scan. We are exactly 9 weeks pregnant. Due date is 14th July 2006. Baby is 1 inch long! We could see heart beat on the scan - maybe this is real! Next scan will be at 20 weeks. 16.10.05 - First scan. We are about five weeks pregnant. Next scan is on 9th December, so we will find out a due date then. |
