After the Rain
My Poems
Here we are left in this morning mist
The final moments are where we exist
After the rain is gone where does that leave us?
I can give you seven ways to scream out lust
Immersed in a lucid dream
Nothing is quite as it seems
Gas station scenerios in front of my face
The images I've seen would amaze
Glass shards shredding bare feet
Bloody footprints encompass the concrete
Cutting stares from bloodshot eyes
Now the scene is so alive
Avoid confrontations at the center of attention
Stand off to the side and let strength in
Once morning comes no visions are recalled
Mind is blank and filled with nothing at all
Memories fade to black and the only words uttered
Pertain to blood stains which hold a radiant luster
How did this happen
He'd taken no action
On the floor the crimson shone brightly
In her hand was fork held tightly
"Eat your heart out," he'd said
That's exactly what she did
Promises were made to one another in the dark
She'd do anything for him, including giving him her heart
