12" Star Wars figures
These are my 12" figure "improvements".
I was unhappy with the static bodies given to the Star Wars 12" figures, so I changed the bodies, giving them the more articulated 12" GiJoe bodies.  I also added details through painting, adding hair and so on to "improve" the figures to my liking.  I would like to thank
Tony Colucci and Tony DiTerilizzi for the inspiration they gave based on the figures that they have made.  Definatley check out these guy's pages.  Very impressive stuff.
12" Han Solo Bespin
This is my 12" Han Solo Bespin.  It took alot of work.  Basically the head I used is the one that has come with the 12" Kay-Bee 3 pack & Han Carbonite.  I felt the head was way too big and too wide, so I decided to "schrink" it.  I trimmed down his chin a lot and then cut away large section of the back of the figure's head.  I left enough for support.  Then I heated up the figure's head and held it in place under cold water so that it would stiffen the way I wanted.  Then I added A/B putty to make the back of the figures head and the sides.  It took a long time until I was happy with the size of the head.  Once that was done I used a techinque that Tony DiTerlizzi uses for his figures.  I made the color I wanted for teh skin tone, mateched it to the body color of the figure and used a stain method.  By going over the figure in very light and watery coats, so that it essentially stains the color into the figure.  I inculuded a comparision picture of the original Hasbro head and my version.  For the Jacket I simply sewed down the collar to that it wouldn't come up so high and look for natural.  I then painted the light blue thread used on the jacket a darker blue wash.  I also re-did his gun, putting the scope on the side of the gun and painting some detail on the gun as well.  I finally have a 12" Han Solo that I like.
