| The Noghri. I thought these guys were cool, but I could never think of what parts to use for the figure and especially the head. Besides that there are many different "versions" of how these character can look. For each Dark Horse interpretation of the Zahn Trilogy the Noghri looked differnt. In the Essential Guide to characters, there is a pretty creepy picture of the Noghri. That gave me the idea to give them oddly strange hands. I figured they are killing machines they would have strong large hands in order to crush, carry and so on. Yeah it's morbid but whatever. I realized I didn't have the pieces to make the more animal looking type and I knew that I wanted them to be small and Ogre like. Once I decided how I wanted them to look. I drew up some pictures and began to think how could I make an Anakin figure into a Noghri. I trimmed down the head alot but left certain areas to give the head some definition and a squarer look to it.. I then trimmed off the nose giving the figure a skeletion type nose. I then added ridgeds and a brow along with the mouth. (for the top Noghri I gave him a fang). I basically went for a combination of how the characters looked in Dark Force Rising and wanted the clothes to resemble an impovershed people. The kind you usually see in movies about the Dark Ages. I plan on making some more, but for now I wanted to make two which looked different. The top guy is a basic Noghri with his combat belt, pouches and trusty knife. The bottom guy is in the hooded robes they were shown wearing when they went on their "special missions". He is carrying his special Spear-Axe.(made from the spear that came with the Qui-Go/Opie two pack. |
