DAVID JUSTICE FACTS
Dave has long been my favorite MLB player of all time.  My grandfather was a huge Braves fan, so I grew up watching them.  When Dave started in 1989, I was in awe of his abilities.  I have followed him throughout his distinguished and record filled career as he played for the Atlanta Braves, the Cleveland Indians, the New York Yankees, and the Oakland Athletics.  I did get to meet him in 2002 before he retired.  It was one of the happiest days of my entire life.  I met him and got his autograph and got a great picture...so who could ask for more??  Well unless he needs a new wife.  I'd definitely apply for that job!!
Dave was born April 14, 1966 in Cincinnati, OH.  He made his Major League debut on May 24, 1989.  He was voted Rookie of the Year in 1990, was awarded as a Silver Slugger in 1993 with the Braves, and again in 1997 with Cleveland.  He was voted MVP of the ALCS in 2000 with the Yankees.  He also had his best homerun season that year, with 41 homeruns in the regular season, and 4 in the postseason.  He has been in postseason play 12 of the 14 seasons he's played which is more than any other major league player.  He is also a three time All Star.  Dave's last game as an active player was on Sept 29, 2002.  Since his retirement he has been announcing for ESPN.  For the 2005 season, and possibly on a continual basis, he is announcing for the YES network which is home of the Yankees.  He has had a successful 1st season with them, and hopefully will be there for some time to come.
