I hope that you like the New look and all of the New pages that I have added. Please e-mail me if you see a page with a mis-spelling or a page  that  doesn't work.

Hey I'm David Betts and I would like to personally welcome you to one page that is all about me !!!!  On this page I'm planning on putting all of the books that I like to  read along with things that I like to do and other personal web sites  that I think are cool and Also am going to be posting stories that I liked reading and I would think that you would like reading them as well ..

 Personal Information:

I would like to started off by telling you that I'm a 21 years old. I went to high school at Madison County High School as well I'm a Christian and I'm a member of Beech Haven Baptist Church here in Athens GA. As you can see I live in the Great City of Athens GA(Note: If you click on the Link Athens GA you will be moved from this page to my cool links page) I went to college in Great Falls Montana at Montana State University - Great Falls College of Technology Some of you could be thinking in your  head as  you are reading this just what is   Montana State University- Great Falls College of Technology. " it's a student-centered two-year college, provides quality educational opportunities responsive to community needs." I would like to tell you all about the time at I was as Montana State University-Great Falls College of Technology and about the City of Great Falls. What was it Like? It was one of that best things that I did I think that it helped me to see that I could live on my own and  go to school and show the people that  told that me that "you can't do it" and Now I can look at them and tell them that I can do it  and that I'm going to be one of the best in the world and some of it this time could be saying why is he telling me this.  I would say,  at this time the you stop reading right here and go and see the link called (Letter) OK Now that you have looked and seen that letter, your are starting to see what I'm talking about. So now some people ask me what are you doing now ? Well here is what I'm doing now I'm home in Athens GA and I'm planning on going back to school in the Spin g f 2002 either at Athens Technical college  and some people ask on  what dates were you (I) in Montana??? I was in Montana from Aug. 14, 1999  to May 3, 2000 and I hoping to go into   ministry of Youth and College Students. Now I have Great News ! I was Baptized on Dec 2, 2001  If you would like to hear more about Dec. 2, 2001 please see my personal testament part of this page.

 Personal Testament:

On October 17, 1999 In Great Falls, Montana, I came to know the Lord. I walked with the Lord for about one year, and then I started to walk away from the Lord. I became anti-Christ. I did not want anything to do with the Lord. O’ yes, I can tell you that my life was in sin. On October 31, 2001, I was at a bar I Athens GA and I started to get mad. I walked out of the bar and felt the Lord's presence all over me. I knew then that I could see the Light. I knew what was right, and I realized that God is the right part in my life. Then on November 1, 2001, I went to see Mr. John Walker. When I walked into his office, I could feel that I was doing the right thing. Turning my life from bad to good was the best decision I made. As I was in John's office, I told him about everything that I had been doing. He then looked at me and asked me if I was feeling like I was down. I told him yes and then he looked at me and told me that I was a Winner in Gods eyes. He opened the Bible and read me a passage from the Bible. The passage he read talked about me being a Winner. And from that day on, I have been walking with God and I'm loved it....

 More On DEC 2, 2001 :

Dec. 2, 2001 This Date will live in my heart for all of my life and why you ask it was the date that I was Baptized at Beech Haven and I would just like to take the time to tell four very Special people Thank You.

The First person is God, He is the One that started it all and I can tell him THANK YOU He is the one that called me to Him. That is the best thing in the world just like He told John (For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life John 3:16 -NIV) Also that He is the Truth and the Light.

The second person is My Mom (Kathy Betts) She is the one that gave me life and as you told me my last year of High School I will just us her words (How do words describe being blessed with a one pound 2oz baby that we have watched grow into a handsome young man.) Thanks Mom

The Third Person that I would like to say Thank You to is Sue This person is like a second mother to me I know that I can call her and say her about thing and what I to do about it or what the bible tell us to do about what ever is going on in my life at that time and here is something that she does not know But I have been witching her in her walk with the lord and has she just has a Great Peace and Hope and little does she know that it helped me to hear it and see it the time that I was in Montana and I would like to tell here and her Family Thank You for all of that and I have to told you all that when I was living in Montana I could not go out of the lines of good or bad because I could not look her in the eyes and she would look at me and Go "DJ DJ You know that is not Right and that you should not be doing that do you not" and I would look at her and tell her yes and she would look at me and tell me OK then... So now I say that she is like a seconded mother to me and I would just like to tell her Thank You for all of her help and Love... Thanks SUE

The Fourth person is Mr. John Walker He is the Minister of College Students and Single Adults at Beech Haven and Not a lot of people how I met John v-internet over Beech Havens web site I as searching for a church in the ATHENS Area and I come to Beech Havens Web site and I looked under the link for College Students and Single Adults and So I emailed him and said them for most Information about the church that as on (Oct.18, 2001) 10/18/2001 at 8:20 PM and on the following Monday my phone ring and it was Mr. John Walker and I told him what I as looking for and he gave me information that I as looking for and You all should know that at this I as Not walking for the lord and then On Oct 31,2001 I had just walked out of a bar and then I was walking down the street of downtown Athens and I could feel that God was working on my heart and at the same time me and my friend at the time we were not seeing eye to eye about this and so on I when home and just cry and pray to God and then on Nov. 1 2001 I when to see Mr. Walker and that was a 2 pm that day and when I walked into his office and told them what all had been going on in my life and I told them it ALL (I will not go into what I told John in this office that day to me I look at it as the a so person that it will just be with me and John.) and so the second Sunday in Nov. Me, Myself and My Mind
by Krishana Kraft
January 11, 2002

What are you thinking about right now? What were you thinking about five minutes ago? If you're anything like me, in the last 10 minutes you probably thought of 10 very different things with no obvious connection.

When I get up in the morning my thoughts take off at Mach speed. It's like my brain is on automatic pilot. "What should I wear? What will I eat for lunch? What do they think of me? What do I have to do today? What will I write this week for 'My Real World?' What will my future look like?"

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about "me."

It's so easy and natural to think about ourselves. Even the world tells us to do what's best for ourselves, believe what we want to believe and that we "deserve a break today." But before our life motto becomes "my way or the highway," let's take a look at what God wants us to think about.

In Matthew (22:37-39), Jesus talks about the greatest commandment which is to love God with every part of our lives—including our minds. And then he says the second greatest is to love our neighbor as ourselves. He doesn't mention love of self till the end because even Jesus understood our tendency of being preoccuppied with ourselves.

When we're consumed with ourselves we miss out on what's around us—almost like we've lost our peripheral vision. All we can see is what's directly in front of us. We miss opportunities to offer encouragement, help or a prayer for someone in need.

But what if instead our thoughts were consumed with God? We'd automatically have a broader view because the things that concern him would also start to concern us. We'd clearly see how we could meet the needs of others.

God desires to be on our minds all day and every day.

"You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you" (Isaiah 26:3).

And the result of being consumed with God is his blessing of peace. Which makes a lot of sense, because if God is on our minds then we can give all of our questions and concerns to him. He does hold all of the answers.

Thinking about God throughout the day doesn't come naturally. But because of Christ, we can talk to him wherever, whenever and about anything—it's like a continual conversation. The more we keep this conversation going, the more natural it will become.

And eventually our morning "me" questions will turn into "thank you" statements as we allow God to take over every part of our lives and experience his blessing of peace.

Seize each day in his presence!

Story One (1)

A True Test
by Krishana Kraft
December 14, 2001

A fresh stack of index cards, a pile of textbooks and hand-written notes from the semester covered my desk. It was that time once again—crunch time for semester exams. The next few days would be focused on recalling what I had learned and trying to memorize everything I hadn't absorbed.

I had always started my school year determined to study a little each week, but somehow those weekly study times piled up into one big, blow-out study session. (Not something I recommend.) Counting down the hours till test time, I'd spend my moments filling out every blank index card I could get my hands on. Once I accumulated a good stack, I would take a break from writing and start testing my memorization skills. It was amazing how much information I could cram into my brain, in such a short amount of time.

I felt like my brain could breathe again after I had released all of that stored information onto my test. I could now resume normal sleeping habits, eating habits (something besides cold pizza and Oreo cookies) and limiting my intake of Mountain Dew.

Yet, once that stored info was released on the test a lot of it seeped out of my brain forever. Why? Because I didn't take the time to really learn the information, but instead just memorized enough to hopefully pass the test.

Semester exams aren't the only tests I've taken in my lifetime. I have little "tests" every day—decisions about how to treat other people, spend my time, or even trust God's faithfulness. The only way to pass these life "tests" is to really learn about love, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, stewardship and trust. And your best study source? God's Word.

Psalm 119 talks a lot about the importance of God's Word in our daily lives: "How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word" (119:9). "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you" (119:11). "I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path" (119:104). "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path" (119:105).

God's Word shouldn't be something we memorize just to recite back the correct answers. Instead it should penetrate our hearts and change our lives.

You never know when a true "test" of your integrity, faith or even forgiveness will arise. Instead of carrying around a stack of index cards with memory verses on them, let's hide God's Word in our hearts and really learn it. So, at any time or place we'll be prepared to take those "tests" and pass with flying colors.

Seize each day in his presence!

Story Two (2)

I'm Starting to Stress Out!
from Good Advice
with Jim Burns

I'm a high school senior, and I'm really stretching myself. I have two classes at the local college, and the rest of my classes are Advanced Placement. I am part of a volunteer group, president of the drama club and editor of our school newspaper. I also have a job working 35 hours a week. I'm excited about doing these things. I want to prove I can succeed because I feel these things will help prepare me to do great things for God. But I'm worried I can't handle it for long. What do you think?

I'm tired just reading your letter! Your motives are fine, but I'm concerned about your method. I think you're taking on more than you can handle. I would be worried about burnout. A good friend once told me, "If the devil can't make you bad, he'll make you busy." Don't get too busy doing good things that you miss the joy of celebrating your senior year. Romans 9:32 says this of being too busy: "They were so absorbed with their 'God projects' that they didn't notice God right in front of them, like a huge rock in the middle of the road" (The Message). These people had pure motives but the wrong method. They were so busy with the work of God that they didn't have time for God.

If I were you, I'd cut back on my schedule. Many of us try to live life at about 125 percent, and we leave little room for unexpected interruptions. In your case, what happens if you're asked to be a leader in your youth group, or if something happens with a friend who needs you?

You have to learn how to say no to some things. Sometimes people overcommit because they get a lot of affirmation for everything they do. Sometimes being busy also helps people with a poor self-image; if you're busy, you don't have to think about the pain in your life. I'm not telling you to eliminate any of your goals. I'm simply challenging you to slow down.

I Want Somebody to Love.
by Tim Stafford

Q: I love God very much and I do feel his love, but it doesn't seem to be enough. I want romantic love, too, a part that God himself can't fulfill. I have talked to many people about this empty feeling, and they all say I am looking for a father's love. But I have a father, and I know he loves me very much. I'm not old enough for a husband to fill this void, and I don't feel I'm emotionally ready for a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. Still, I fantasize about having a guy in my life to talk to and cuddle with. I have many close guy friends, but it's not the same and doesn't fill the emptiness. What exactly is this void, and how can I fill it?

A: You're feeling something everybody experiences, to some extent. It's part of being human. The feeling is made up of two parts. One is the longing for a human partner. We get a glimpse of this longing in Genesis 2:18: "The Lord God said, 'It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.'" God recognized that his creation was not complete without man and woman to complement each other. The longing you feel is partly this: You haven't yet found the person you're meant to partner with. Some (not all) of the longing will be fulfilled only then.

But there's another part that will never be filled in this life. It's the part that longs to see and experience God "face to face." This is the powerful urge Paul expressed by saying, "I want to know Christ" (Philippians 3:10) even though he was already a Christian. This is what Paul means by saying "Now all we can see of God is like a cloudy picture in a mirror. Later we will see him face to face. We don't know everything, but then we will, just as God completely understands us" (1 Corinthians 13:12, cev). On both counts, you're not going to feel that void filled right now. You're not ready to get married. And you're probably not going to heaven for a while. You're going to live with longing for a while.

That's not all bad. Sometimes feeling that void can help motivate you to be a better person-to prepare yourself for your marriage partner, so you'll have a happy marriage, and to prepare yourself for God, so he'll like what he sees when he meets you face to face. You might ask yourself: "Knowing I want someday to fill this void, how do I prepare? How do I need to change in order to become more pleasing to a future partner and to God?"

Some people pray each day for the person they'll someday marry. You don't know him, but God does. You can ask God to keep him from temptation, to help him to grow, to strengthen and deepen his character. Then pray the same prayer for yourself.

You can also pray about the day when you will "see God." In fact, that prayer is part of the one Jesus taught us to pray: "Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." We all have to live with longing, but it's a wonderful thing to know that someday our deepest longings will be filled.

Beautiful Women

A little boy asked his mother "Why are you crying?" "Because

I'm a woman", she told him. "I don't understand", he said. His

mum just hugged him and said, "And you never will"... Later the

little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no

reason?" "All women cry for no reason", was all his dad could

say... The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering

why women cry. Finally he put in a call to God; and when God got

on the phone, the man said, "God, why do women cry so easily?"

God said: "When I made the woman she had to be special. 1 made

her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world; yet,

gentle enough to give comfort..." "I gave her an inner strength to

endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her

children..." "I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going

when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through

sickness and fatigue without complaining..." "I gave her the

sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances,

even when her child has hurt her very-badly..." I gave her strength

to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his

rib to protect his heart..." "I gave her wisdom to know that a good

husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and

her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly..." "And finally, I

gave her a tear to shed... This is hers exclusively to use whenever it

is needed." "You see: The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes

she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her

hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that

is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."

Every Woman is Beautiful

TOP TEN TEST DAY TIPS

Brought to you by the American School Counselor Association

1. Be Equipped On the night before the test you should gather everything you'll need: the admission

ticket, a valid form of photo identification, several #2 pencils, a calculator with fresh batteries (for

the SAT only), a watch, and a high-energy snack.

2. Don't Cram You've worked hard. The best thing to do the evening before the test is to get a good

night's sleep. You've covered the content and you've perfected the skills. Now it's time to get in test

mode — calm, rested, confident, and ready.

3. Dress in Layers The climate in test centers can vary from sauna-like to frigid. Be prepared for

both extremes and everything in-between. You need to be comfortable to do your best.

4. Arrive Early You may want to scope out your test location before test day to ensure that you

know where you're going. Getting to the test should be the least of your concerns.

5. Don't Spend too Much Time on One Question Each question is worth the same number of points.

If a question is confusing or too time-consuming, don't lose your cool. Instead, move on to greener

pastures. You can come back to hard questions if you have time at the end of a section.

6. Don't Look for Unscored Questions/Sections The experimental section on the SAT is well-

camouflaged. Sometimes the ACT contains experimental questions that are scattered throughout the

sections. Do your best on every question—that way, you're covered.

7. Keep Track of Where You Are in a Section

On the SAT, obvious answer choices early in a set may be correct. Obvious choices near the end of a

set are often booby traps.

8. Guess Aggressively If you don't know an answer, don't leave the question blank or guess ran-

domly. Eliminate the choices you know are wrong, then make an educated guess from the remaining

options. Remember, if you can eliminate even one answer choice then it pays to guess on the SAT.

9. Be Careful Filling in the Answer Grid Make sure you're filling in answers next to the right numbers.

10. Relax Your attitude and outlook are crucial to your test-day performance. Be confident.
