| My Dad was a carpenter when I was very young, and his uncle Bob was before him as well. The smell of woodshavings....the fascination with simple tools and designs. Its all good. Decent timber's getting scarce, so most of us hunt down recycled wood from demolition sites and second hand stores. Which is half the fun. And then you get to sit on it. Which is choice. |

| on Copperlode road I found a huge section of rainforest timber, still with the vines and lichen intact. I used it to make the legs and extras on this desk, and then used the remaining wood to make my Queensised slat bed. The back board has butterfly wings and leaves glazed into the finish. (fav thing I ever made) |

| this is my puter workstation. Its a pine bookshelf on top of a desk made of Cedar Rosewood, and Oak. The Minidisc cabinet on the left is from pieces of english Oak ive been carting around since the 80's This view is the most familiar thing in my life. |

| so I wanted a Dobro guitar, right,... and I spend ages making this out of old western red cedar and some jarrah, and a plank of blackbean. Themiddle is a Nissan Cedric hubcap, and the guides are a Lockwood door clasp. anyway,.. It worked..the sound was brilliant...but unfortunaely the shape was impossible to play because the body would fall over your knee till the wieght distribution was totally one sided,.. or.. the body sat in your lap, while the neck was 3 blocks away. This is when it evolved into a cello. |
