Biography:
Daveigh Elizabeth Schwallier (pronounced Da-Vay) was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 24, 1990. An only child, Daveigh's mother, Cathy Chase, knew that Daveigh had talent early on when Daveigh showed incredible abilities in pitch as a toddler. After the divorce of Daviegh's parents, she took the surname Chase, her mother's maiden name.
The age of 8 was a big year for Daviegh. Not only did she open live at a concert for the hit country singing sensation, Reba McEntire, but she also began work on voicing one of her most famous movies, Lilo and Stitch.
Lilo and Stitch took four years to complete, and in the meantime, Daveigh starred in her first TV movie, "Michael Landon: The Father I Knew." Before the release of Lilo and Stitch, Daveigh appeared in 9 movies, including Donnie Darko in which she co-starred among Hollywood's best (Drew Barrymore, Noah Wyle, Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal, Jena Malone, etc.) And during this time, the release of Spirited Away came out in which Daveigh voiced another character. Spirited Away was a hit, and so was Lilo and Stitch.
Shortly following Lilo and Stitch, Daveigh starred in a TV movie The Rats, and also another of her most famous films, a pyschological thriller, The Ring. The Ring proved to be another hit, starring Daveigh as the creepy Samara Morgan.
Most recently, Daveigh is appearing in a Fox TV show Oliver Beene, in which she plays the friend of a boy named Oliver Beene. She's done a straight-to-video release of the Lilo and Stitch sequel and is also voicing Lilo for the TV series, now airing on the Disney Channel. Another straight-to-video release, Beethoven's 5th is now available on video and DVD. We can look forward to seeing Daveigh in a new movie, Carolina and also a made for TV movie called Boondocks. Daveigh currently resides in Las Angeles, California.
