Our first stop on our way home is the village of Linz which has a castle in the middle of the village, and another just on the outskirts. Further down the road we took a detour which leads you out to an insel that they have turned into a huge park and dock for the river boats. And of course the obligatory Bier Garten. The next and last stop is Lorch. But before that we encountered a detour that took us about thirty minutes into the hills above the river. We new that barricade in the road meant something. Not being able to read the signs, we thought maybe we could just keep going. Everyone else was. About five kilometers away we were all turned back by the polizei to a nondisclosed destination. Exact words were " you have to go over the hill". Not very forthcoming on information. Back to that darn map. Which actually came in helpful this time. Now we have reached Lorch. We thought maybe it was time to stop and relax a little bit . We found a nice Hotel with an outdoor cafe. The whole roof of the cafe was grapevines that had been trained to grow as a shade. We will definitely be going back to see the places we didn't have time for. But for now, it's back to work...
