                     Resto-Mod!
I decided I like this bike so much that I wanted to clean it up and add some semi-modern components.  I found some Campy 8-speed Record bar end shifters, Mirage long-cage derailleur, front der, NOS brakes and levers, and some beautiful Sugino touring cranks.  Brooks saddle, fenders from the old Astra, and any other weird old stuff I could find.
Build includes:
Campagnolo Mirage 8-speed gruppo
Record bar-end shifters
Sugino touring crankset (50-40-28)
Velocity 27" rims laced to 8-speed cassette hubs
Velo Orange sells Elk-hide bar wrap that stiches on.  Matching chainstay protector and leather mud-flaps too.  Headlight from a French ebay seller, reproduction tailight, and seatbag from
Frost River in Duluth, Minn.
Painted flutes on seatpost and fenders
Painted to look like the old stainless steel Crescents.  Check out this old brochure, or this link:

The foil seat tube decal was masked - it's in perfect condition.  All other decals are custom made by a friend - incorrect color, but so is spreading the stays for 8-speed wheels!
The frame came from a member of the classicrendezvous.com list. It's not pretty, but it has a sweet ride, being built from Reynolds 531 tubing.
Build gruppo is a first-generation Shimano 600 group with Suntour bar-cons.  Moustache bars and Brooks saddle make it a comfy commuter bike.
