| Battery headlight and taillight conversion | |||||||||||||||||
| I didn't want a generator on my touring Crescent, so I converted the lights to battery power. I chose NIMH 6v recharable batteries from an on-line battery source. (batteryspace.com) I've been using these as replacement batteries for years on my serious cycling lights - both helmet and handlebar-mount. They are about half the price of replacement batteries from the lighting manufacturers. I ran all of the wiring below the fenders, and used the frame as the ground. Battery pack stays in my seat bag where I rigged up a plug that allows me to remove the battery pack to charge it. |
