| This is my Lotus Sunbeam, a very rare car nowadays, in the 80's it was know as the 'Hooligans car' and it certainly is a wolf in sheeps clothing, it has a 2.2 Twin cam Lotus engine which puts out xxx bhp, its fitted with two Weber 40 DCOE's which are like music to my ears they just sound so deeps and throaty when you drive it, its fittted with an LSD which was an option from new, it also has a ZF or 'dog leg' gear box like the E30 M3 and Cossie Merc 190 which takes a bit of getting used to, it has been lowered 3" with Leda suspension, this one is currently under going restoration and I hope to have it done for this summer, but thats what I said last year and the year before!!!! I havent actually driven this one on the road but have driven another which was lovely, they have a real sporty feel to them, you have no P.A.S or mod cons so you can really feel the road and shit do they go, Ive driven a lot of cars in my time and can honestly say that at its peek it felt near on Cossie performance , they do 0-60 in around 6 seconds which for a 1980 car aint bad and top about 120. Unfortunatley beacuse of its age the body on this one was too far gone so I was lucky enough to find a perfect shell on my doorstep which I just need to swap all the stuff over onto, I am going to keep it totally original so to keeps it value and just cant wait to get it done so I can drive it!!!!!!!!!! |
